Salvage Surgeries for Head and Neck Cancers
Salvage surgeries may be needed for recurrent or residual cancer after having been treated previously. As these patients would have received prior treatment (radiotherapy or chemotherapy or surgery), it is challenging to remove such disease. It is important in such cases to remove the disease in entirety as it is the best chance for cure in these patients. Many a times, additional measures may be needed to ensure that the cancer does not come back.
